A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE Twenty-sixth REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT
ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $2,310,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2021-2022 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the twenty-sixth representative district, as follows:
Plans, land, design, construction, and equipment for fence improvements to increase safety and security.

Design $1,000
Construction $27,000
Equipment $20,000
Total funding $50,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
2. Lunalilo elementary school
Design and construction for covered basketball courts.
Design $80,000
Construction $800,000
Total funding $880,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
3. Lunalilo elementary school
Design and construction for covered walkways from library to cafeteria.
Design $30,000
Construction $300,000
Total funding $330,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
4. Lunalilo elementary school
Design, construction, and equipment for air conditioning for front office.
Design $50,000
Construction $200,000
Equipment $300,000
Total funding $550,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
5. Washington middle school
Plans, design, and construction for the relocation of sewer lines and removal of trees in the plans to build a 21st century band room.
Plans $25,000
Design $25,000
Construction $450,000
Total funding $500,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2024, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2021.
