A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO PROSTITUTION.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 712, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part I to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§712-     Solicitation of prostitution near schools or public parks.  (1)  A person commits the offense of solicitation of prostitution near schools or public parks if, within seven hundred fifty feet of a school or a public park, the person offers or agrees to pay a fee to another person to engage in sexual conduct.

     (2)  A person who violates this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.

     (3)  For purposes of this section:

     "School" has the same meaning as in section 712-1249.6(6).

     "Sexual conduct" has the same meaning as in section 712-1200(2)."

     SECTION 3.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on January 7, 2059.
