A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

Relating to judicial Nominees.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 601, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§601-    Justices and judges; nominees; public disclosure.  The judicial selection commission shall publicly disclose the commission's list of nominees for any judicial office concurrent with the submission of the list to the governor or the chief justice of the supreme court."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
