A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

Relating to capital improvement projects FOR the benefit of the twenty-third representative district.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $1,780,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2019-2020 for the purpose of financing capital improvement projects for the twenty-third representative district, as follows:

1.   To be expended by the department of education:

     A.   Manoa elementary school, Oahu

          Construction related to floor and wall repair.

     Total funding                       $598,000

     B.   Hokulani elementary school, Oahu

          Construction related to the installation of ceiling fans in various campus buildings.

Construction                             $140,000

     Total funding                       $140,000

     C.   Hokulani elementary school, Oahu

          Construction related to installation of solar ventilators.

Construction                             $ 36,000

     Total funding                       $ 36,000

     D.   Hokulani elementary school, Oahu

          Construction related to the installation of certain first floor security screens.

Construction                             $200,000

     Total funding                       $200,000

     E.   Hokulani elementary school, Oahu

          Construction related to the installation of certain first floor security screens.

Construction                             $100,000

     Total funding                       $100,000

     F.   Manoa elementary school, Oahu

          Construction related to the replacement of certain windows.

Construction                             $160,000

     Total funding                       $160,000

     G.   Manoa elementary school, Oahu

          Construction related to the replacement of certain windows.

     H.   Manoa elementary school, Oahu

          Construction related to the windows in rooms 11, 12, and 13.

     I.   Noelani elementary school, Oahu

          Construction related to stage improvements, including stage curtains.

     Total funding                       $ 50,000

     J.   Noelani elementary school, Oahu

          Construction related to ceiling fan safety cables in various buildings.

Construction                             $ 14,000

     Total funding                       $ 14,000

     K.   Noelani elementary school, Oahu

          Construction related to the replacement of lights, including rewiring.

Construction                             $ 50,000

     Total funding                       $ 50,000

     L.   Noelani elementary school, Oahu

          Construction related to the installation of security screens in the school walkway.

Construction                             $120,000

     Total funding                       $120,000

     M.   Noelani elementary school, Oahu

          Construction related to the installation of solar ventilators.

Construction                             $ 32,000

     Total funding                       $ 32,000

     SECTION 2.  The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation that are unencumbered as of June 30, 2022, shall lapse as of that date.

     SECTION 3.  The sums appropriated shall be expended by the designated expending agencies for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2019.
