A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE TWENTY-SIXTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2019-2020:

     1.   To be expended by the department of education:

     A.   Central middle school, Oahu

          Equipment to replace the stage lighting in the auditorium in building B; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

          Total funding                            $120,000

     B.   Central middle school, Oahu

          Equipment to install ceiling fans in the cafeteria in building B; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

          Equipment                                 $40,000

          Total funding                             $40,000

     C.   Central middle school, Oahu

          Equipment to replace the house lighting in the auditorium in building B; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

          Equipment                                $100,000

          Total funding                            $100,000

     D.   Central middle school, Oahu

          Land acquisition for campus beautification; and ground and site improvements.

          Land acquisition                          $20,000

          Total funding                             $20,000

     E.   King William Lunalilo elementary school, Oahu

          Design and construction to install air conditioning systems in the classrooms and offices of buildings A, B, C, and D; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                                    $1,000

          Construction                             $799,000

          Total funding                            $800,000

     F.   King William Lunalilo elementary school, Oahu

          Design and construction to paint buildings A, B, C, D, the office, and cafeteria; ground and site improvements.

          Design                                    $1,000

          Construction                             $399,000

          Total funding                            $400,000

     G.   King William Lunalilo elementary school, Oahu

          Design and construction to refurbish the first and second floors of building B; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

          Total funding                            $100,000

     H.   President George Washington middle school, Oahu

          Construction and equipment to complete the audio integration portion of the audio studio project; and equipment and appurtenances.

          Construction                             $296,000

     I.   President George Washington middle school, Oahu

          Plans, design, construction, and equipment for a new state of the art band room including upgrading and repurposing the existing band room into an orchestra/piano room and the existing orchestra/piano room into a chorus/Hawaiian music room; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                                   $750,000

          Construction                           $8,000,000

          Equipment                              $2,000,000

          Total funding                         $11,175,000

     SECTION 2.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2019.
