A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to a stadium.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding section 107D-2(b), Hawaii Revised Statutes, the legislature has determined that the current Aloha Stadium is a priority facility that is best suited for the state facility renovation partnership program.  Notwithstanding section 107D-2(c), Hawaii Revised Statutes, the department of accounting and general services shall prepare a plan to enter into a development agreement to replace the present Aloha Stadium with a state-of-the-art stadium and shopping center complex, including a rail station, in exchange for a long-term lease to the developer of the state and federal lands at the stadium site.

     The department of accounting and general services shall submit a report of its plan, including any proposed legislation, to the legislature not later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2014.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2013.
