A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending the Alapaha Judicial Circuit CFR Committees; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Alapaha Judicial Circuit CFR Committees are recognized for their outstanding achievement in 2011 acknowledging the hard work of all CFR members in Atkinson, Berrien, Clinch, Cook, and Lanier counties; and

WHEREAS, under the direction of District Attorney Catherine Helms, the Alapaha Circuit has paved the way for circuit-wide child fatality reviews; and

WHEREAS, Catherine Helms is actively involved and consistently plays a vital role in the outstanding performance of her team by devoting a great deal of time personally entering reports into the online reporting system, attending meetings with Victim Assistance Coordinator Sarah Surratt, and participating in annual CFR training; and

WHEREAS, the meetings allow members to strategize effective ways of addressing the issues surrounding child injuries and fatalities and using those strategies to educate and engage the community about child safety, injury, and fatality prevention efforts; and

WHEREAS, the Alapaha Judicial Circuit CFR Committees have long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that they have played in leadership and their deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join together to recognize the Alapaha Judicial Circuit CFR Committees for their 2011 outstanding achievements and commend their service to their community and this state.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Alapaha Judicial Circuit CFR Committees.
