RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Dr. Gene Henssler; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Dr. Gene Henssler has long been recognized for his passion for the markets as a
professor of finance and his sound financial and money management advice;
and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Henssler earned a master's degree in business administration and a doctoral
degree in finance from the University of Michigan and dedicated 30 years
teaching courses at Georgia State University, the University of Toledo, Grand
Valley State University, and Kennesaw State University; and
WHEREAS,
in 1987, Dr. Henssler founded G.W. Henssler & Associates, Ltd., to offer
personal financial investment advice on a consulting basis which has expanded
over the years to become the billion dollar conglomerate, The Henssler Financial
Group, which includes G.W. Henssler & Associates, Ltd., and Henssler Asset
Management, LLC, and a full service tax division; and
WHEREAS,
a former columnist for the
Atlanta Business
Chronicle, Dr. Henssler has written
numerous articles for newspapers, magazines, and professional journals dealing
with a wide variety of financial topics; and
WHEREAS,
he was named on the 2009 FIVE STAR Best in Client Satisfaction Wealth Managers
list by Atlanta
Magazine, which marks the second time Dr.
Henssler has made the prestigious list; and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Henssler helped establish a Student Managed Investment Fund at Kennesaw
State University, which stands as the first investment fund at the college and
allows students to invest real dollars into the stock market, allowing them to
connect theory of the classroom with real world practice;
and
WHEREAS, he matches his employees' annual contributions to Calvary Children's Home, a home for neglected and orphaned children; and
WHEREAS, he matches his employees' annual contributions to Calvary Children's Home, a home for neglected and orphaned children; and
WHEREAS,
the sound financial and investment insight provided by Dr. Henssler and the
decades of service to the future leaders of this nation serve as an inspiration
to others and are worthy of recognition.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Dr. Gene Henssler for his outstanding contributions to the field of higher
education, recognize his selfless, efficient, and effective public service to
the State of Georgia and his community, and extend to him sincere best wishes
for the near and distant future.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Dr. Gene Henssler.
