A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mr. Eddie J. White; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Eddie J. White has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for
the vital role that he has played in the teaching profession and his deep
personal commitment to the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. White dedicated 47 years to molding young minds and uplifting the lives of
students through his work in the field of education; and
WHEREAS,
he earned a bachelor's degree in biology and chemistry and master's and
specialists degrees in education; and
WHEREAS,
this highly respected professional educator began his career with the Clayton
County Public School System, where he served as an anatomy and physiology
teacher, an assistant principal, a principal, and an assistant superintendent;
and
WHEREAS,
during his teaching career, Mr. White earned recognition as Star Teacher for
Forest Park High School for two consecutive years and Clayton County Teacher of
the Year twice and remained active in education during his retirement, serving
as a temporary administrator for eight schools and on the Clayton County Board
of Education; and
WHEREAS,
his leadership and guidance have been instrumental as vice chairman of the Board
of Directors for the Clayton County Department of Family and Children Services,
vice chairman of Clayton County Code Enforcement Board, parliamentarian and
public relations chairman of the Clayton County Retired Educators Association,
and president of the Arnold-Fountain Professional Club; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. White is united in love and marriage to his wife, Allene, and he has been
blessed with four children and eight grandchildren;
and
WHEREAS, a man of deep and abiding faith, Mr. White is an active member of Christian Missionary Baptist Church in College Park, Georgia, where he serves as a member of the Deacons Ministry and a Sunday school teacher; and

WHEREAS,
his dedication and commitment to education and the future leaders of this nation
serve as an inspiration to others and he has been officially recognized with
numerous awards, including Outstanding Administrator of the Year from the
Georgia Association of Educators, an NAACP Image Award for Education from the
Clayton County NAACP, and a Citizenship Award from the College Park Civic and
Education Club; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of his contributions to the students in this state and his
community, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the extraordinary commitment
and accomplishments of this outstanding individual be honored.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize
Mr. Eddie J. White for his outstanding contributions to the students in this
state and his community and extend to him best wishes for the near and distant
future.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Eddie J. White.
