A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Morrow High School JROTC instructors; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Morrow High School JROTC program has earned a well-deserved reputation for
precision, dedication, and excellence; and
WHEREAS,
participation in the high school program has helped many generations of American
young people to build self-discipline and responsibility, as well as awareness
of citizenship in a democratic society; and
WHEREAS,
the program's instructors serve as fine examples and role models for Morrow High
School students, encouraging participants to excel and thrive; and
WHEREAS,
the discipline, respect, and work ethic modeled and demanded by the instructors
have earned them recognition as Outstanding AFJROTC Instructors for 2007-2008;
and
WHEREAS,
Lieutenant Colonel Charley James was the recipient of the Excellence in All We
Do Award; and
WHEREAS,
Technical Sergeant Charles Thomison was honored with the Integrity First Award;
and
WHEREAS,
Sergeant Sandi Williams was recognized with the Service Before Self Award;
and
WHEREAS,
nothing is more vital to the future of our state than the education of our young
people, and these instructors, during their teaching career, have exemplified
the selfless dedication and professionalism which are characteristic of our
finest educators; and
WHEREAS,
it is appropriate that this body join in expressing appreciation to Lieutenant
Colonel James, Sergeant Thomison, and Sergeant Williams for their outstanding
efforts and accomplishments in professional education.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body heartily
and gratefully commend the instructors of Morrow High School's JROTC program,
Lieutenant Colonel Charley James, Technical Sergeant Charles Thomison, and
Sergeant Sandi Williams, for their devotion to creating future leaders and
extraordinary citizens and congratulate them upon their recognitions for their
outstanding service.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Lieutenant Colonel Charley
James, Technical Sergeant Charles Thomison, and Sergeant Sandi Williams.
