A
RESOLUTION
Congratulating
the First Presbyterian Christian Academy boys' basketball team for winning the
2010 GISA Class A State Championship; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the First Presbyterian Christian Academy boys' basketball team demonstrated a
feat of greatness with a 55-46 victory over the Bethesda Blazers at Georgia
College and State University to clinch the 2010 GISA Class A State Championship,
proving that the Highlanders are a force to be reckoned with; and
WHEREAS,
this incredible team finished the season with a record of 43-2 and earned First
Presbyterian Christian Academy its third consecutive state championship in boys'
basketball; and
WHEREAS,
the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding
athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and
spirit of each member of the team and their superb offensive and defensive
talents; and
WHEREAS,
the Highlanders were challenged to succeed and led by the astute direction of
GISA Class A's coach of the year David Jones and Assistant Coach David
Linderman, who were both chosen as All-Star coaches; and
WHEREAS,
as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by
performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition,
it is abundantly proper to call them champions.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
congratulate the First Presbyterian Christian Academy boys' basketball team for
winning the 2010 GISA Class A State Championship.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Head Coach David Jones.
