RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mr. Wayne Ervin, the 2011 Outstanding American History Teacher;
and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Wayne Ervin has been named the 2011 Outstanding American History Teacher by
the Georgia State Society of the Colonial Dames XVII Century; and
WHEREAS,
to name the Outstanding American History Teacher, chapters of the Colonial Dames
XVII Century are requested each year to submit endorsements of teachers from
their local area and a panel of judges reviews the applications;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Ervin's application was submitted by the Saint Simons Island Chapter;
and
WHEREAS,
a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most
important objective of the General Assembly; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of his contributions to the education and welfare of young people
in this state, it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the
extraordinary accomplishments and academic achievements of this outstanding
individual.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Mr. Wayne Ervin, the 2011 Outstanding American History Teacher, and express to
him their sincere best wishes for continued success in the future.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Wayne Ervin.
