RESOLUTION
Commending
J.J. Biello Park Cherokee Tennis Center's USTA senior women's team for winning
the 2012 City Championship; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
J.J. Biello Park Cherokee Tennis Center's USTA senior women's team won the 2012
City Championship for USTA Atlanta Senior Women's 3.5 Level; and
WHEREAS,
team members include Kim House, Telete Greene, Veronica Sumner, Beth Williams,
Diane Granato, Julie Ehrensperger, Sue Hardy, Frieda Matthews, and Jan Stout;
and
WHEREAS,
the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding
athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and
spirit of each member of the team; and
WHEREAS,
the Cherokee Tennis Center consists of ten hard surface courts and is home to
Top Tennis Academy, a high performance training center for juniors;
and
WHEREAS,
as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by
performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition,
it is abundantly proper to call them the champions.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
J.J. Biello Park Cherokee Tennis Center's USTA senior women's team for winning
the 2012 City Championship and extend to them their best wishes for continued
health and happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to J.J. Biello Park Cherokee
Tennis Center's USTA senior women's team.
