BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 50-18-72 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to when public disclosure of public records is not required and the disclosure
of exempting legal authority, so as to limit the disclosure of certain private
information of firefighters; to provide for related matters; to repeal
conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 50-18-72 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to when
public disclosure of public records is not required and the disclosure of
exempting legal authority, is amended in paragraph (13) of subsection (a) as
follows:
"(13)
Records that would reveal the home address or telephone number, social security
number, or insurance or medical information of employees of the Department of
Revenue, law enforcement officers,
firefighters
as defined in Code Section 25-4-2, judges,
scientists employed by the Division of Forensic Sciences of the Georgia Bureau
of Investigation, correctional employees, and prosecutors or identification of
immediate family members or dependents thereof;"
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
