A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT


To amend Part 2 of Article 10 of Chapter 6 of Title 40 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to parking for persons with disabilities, so as to provide for use of more than one parking place by persons with disabilities when all parking places for persons with disabilities are full; to provide for related matters; to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
Part 2 of Article 10 of Chapter 6 of Title 40 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to parking for persons with disabilities, is amended by adding a new Code section to read as follows:
"40-6-226.1.
Notwithstanding any other provisions of this part, persons with disabilities may park in one or more parking places not reserved for persons with disabilities when all of the parking places for persons with disabilities are full. It shall not be a violation of any parking law or ordinance if, under these circumstances, the vehicle of the person with disabilities occupies more than one parking place not reserved for persons with disabilities."

SECTION 2.
This Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its becoming law without such approval.

SECTION 3.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
