RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending KIDDS Dance Project; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
KIDDS Dance Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Georgia's
youth by involving them in various activities; and
WHEREAS,
with a meaning of Kids Influenced by self-Discipline, self-Determination, and
positive Self image, KIDDS Dance Project was founded in 1995 by executive
director Pat Martin; and
WHEREAS,
the mission of KIDDS Dance Project is to promote the prevention of substance
abuse and violence through the art of dance; and
WHEREAS,
by building character through the performing arts, KIDDS Dance Project involves
community youth in major stage productions to build their character and self
esteem; and
WHEREAS,
KIDDS Dance Project has performed at the Atlanta Civic Center, the Robert Ferst
Center for the Arts, and the Georgia Dome and has an annual production entitled
Resurrection
at the Rialto Center; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding work of this fine
organization and its numerous contributions to the citizens of this state be
appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend KIDDS Dance Project for serving as a positive force for the
youth of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to KIDDS Dance
Project's executive director, Pat Martin.
