RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending 24th Annual Young Heart of the Community Award Winner Jennifer
Scott; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Jennifer Scott has earned a reputation for community service and selfless
dedication to others that has been recognized by the Heart of the Community
Foundation, Inc., and the Redmond Regional Medical Center with her honor as a
2010 Young Heart of the Community Award; and
WHEREAS,
founded in 1987, the Heart of the Community Foundation Award honors community
leaders, with 157 individuals recognized for their altruistic service over the
last 24 years, and the Young Heart of the Community Award recognizes community
leaders in Rome who are 35 years of age or younger; and
WHEREAS,
the Heart of the Community Foundation has raised over $500,000.00 for the
support of local heart related activities, community education, and local
charities; and
WHEREAS,
the 2010 Heart of the Community Award recipients will have donations made to a
local charity in their honor; and
WHEREAS,
a native of Alabama, Mrs. Scott moved to Rome in 2003 and has been an active
member of the community ever since; and
WHEREAS,
a community leader, Mrs. Scott is active with numerous organizations in Rome,
Georgia, including the Heart Walk Committee, First Presbyterian Church, Open
Door Home, and Young Life Chapter of Rome; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Scott is united in love and marriage to Dr. Dyland Scott and is the mother
of triplets; and
WHEREAS, the benevolent and honorable deeds of this charitable woman serve as a shining example of volunteerism, and the State of Georgia is honored and blessed to have Mrs. Scott as a citizen.

NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Mrs. Jennifer Scott on her outstanding community service and
congratulate her on the prestigious honor of being awarded a 2010 Heart of the
Community Award.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Jennifer
Scott.
