RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Ms. Brittany Austin on the occasion of her graduation from Macon
State College; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Ms. Brittany Austin was born on July 28, 1987, and is the beloved daughter of
Gregory and Vivian Austin and Charletha Smith; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Austin graduated from Westside High School, where she maintained a "B"
average, was named to the Honor Roll, and served as a dedicated member of
numerous organizations, including the Beta Club, PREP, TAPS, and Science Club;
and
WHEREAS,
on May 7, 2010, Ms. Austin will receive a bachelor's degree in early childhood
and special education from Macon State College; and
WHEREAS,
while attending Macon State College, Ms. Austin has been an active member of the
Future Educators of America program and earned a scholarship from the Bibb
County Retired Educators Association for her academic dedication and excellence;
and
WHEREAS,
a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Ms. Austin is actively involved
in the church's young adult ministry, sings in both the adult and young adult
choirs, helps instruct the children's choir, and maintains a part-time position
as church clerk while attending school; and
WHEREAS,
upon her graduation from Macon State College, Ms. Austin plans to pursue a
master's degree in education; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Austin has brought great pride to her family, friends, and community and the
State of Georgia looks forward with eager anticipation to the promising future
of this bright young citizen.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Ms. Brittany Austin for her years of studious work in the
classroom, recognize her outstanding service to her church, and congratulate her
upon her graduation from college.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Brittany
Austin.
