BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act creating a board of commissioners for Ware County, approved March
15, 1963 (Ga. L. 1963, p. 2237), as amended, so as to provide for receipt of
performance audits as a condition precedent to making certain payments; to
provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act creating a board of commissioners for Ware County, approved March 15, 1963
(Ga. L. 1963, p. 2237), as amended, is amended by adding a new section to read
as follows:
"SECTION
17.2.
(a)(1)
The board shall not make any payment to the Okefenokee Area Development
Authority unless and until the board has received a copy of the report of an
independent performance audit regarding such authority which was completed
during the twelve month period immediately preceding the time of such payment.
Any such audit report received by the board shall be a public
record.
(2)
The board shall not make any payment to the Waycross and Ware County Development
Authority unless and until the board has received a copy of the report of an
independent performance audit regarding such authority which was completed
during the twelve month period preceding the time of such payment. Any such
audit report received by the board shall be a public record.
(b)
This section shall not impair any right or obligation of any contract entered
into prior to July 1, 2011."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective on July 1, 2011.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
