BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 36-74-21 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to definitions regarding the local government code enforcement boards, so as to
provide for definitions; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting
laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 36-74-21 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to
definitions regarding the local government code enforcement boards, is amended
by adding a new paragraph to read as follows:
"(5.1)
'Registration of residential rental property' means any local government
requirement that the identities of any tenant be disclosed as part of a
registration system for properties zoned or used for residential purposes. It
shall not mean:
(A)
Any property upon which there exists any structure defined by local ordinance as
vacant; or
(B)
Any property adjudicated by a magistrate, municipal, or other court authorized
to hear ordinance violations or determined by an enforcement board to be in
violation of county or municipal codes and ordinances more than once in any 12
month period."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
