    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to the Barron Water Control District,
    3         an independent special district in Glades and Hendry
    4         Counties; amending chapter 2001-301, Laws of Florida;
    5         abrogating the scheduled abolition of the district;
    6         providing an effective date.

    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9  
   10         Section 1. Section 3 of section 3 of chapter 2001-301, Laws
   11  of Florida, is amended to read:
   12         Section 3.a. The Barron Water Control District of Glades
   13  and Hendry Counties shall cease to exist at midnight September
   14  30, 2020.
   15         b. The terms of office of the supervisors of the Barron
   16  Water Control District shall be changed so as to change to the
   17  month of January the time for the annual meeting of the
   18  landowners of the Barron Water Control District. In all other
   19  respects, the procedures and requirements pertaining to said
   20  annual landowners’ meeting shall be as prescribed by chapter
   21  298, Florida Statutes.
   22         Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
