    2         An act relating to statutes of limitation for offenses
    3         relating to sexual performance by a child; amending s.
    4         775.15, F.S.; eliminating statutes of limitations
    5         periods for prosecution of specified violations
    6         relating to sexual performance by a child if the
    7         offender was a certain age at the time of the offense;
    8         providing applicability; providing an effective date.

   10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   11  
   12         Section 1. Subsection (21) is added to section 775.15,
   13  Florida Statutes, to read:
   14         775.15 Time limitations; general time limitations;
   15  exceptions.—
   16         (21) In addition to the time periods prescribed in this
   17  section, a prosecution for any offense under s. 827.071(2) or
   18  (3), if the offender was 18 years of age or older at the time of
   19  the offense, may be commenced at any time. This subsection
   20  applies to any offense that is not otherwise barred from
   21  prosecution on or before July 1, 2022.
   22         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2022.
