Florida Senate - 2018 CS for SB 700 By the Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs, Space, and Domestic Security; and Senators Farmer and Torres 583-02739-18 2018700c1 1 A bill to be entitled 2 An act relating to a strategic fuel reserve; creating 3 the Florida Strategic Fuel Reserve Task Force within 4 the Division of Emergency Management to develop a 5 recommended strategic fuel reserve for an emergency or 6 disaster; requiring the division to provide 7 administrative and support services to the task force; 8 specifying the membership of the task force; requiring 9 the task force to elect a chair and a vice chair; 10 requiring the task force to submit a recommended plan 11 to the Governor and the Legislature; providing an 12 expiration date; providing an effective date. 13 14 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 15 16 Section 1. (1) The Florida Strategic Fuel Reserve Task 17 Force, a task force as defined in s. 20.03, Florida Statutes, is 18 created within the Division of Emergency Management within the 19 Executive Office of the Governor to develop a recommended 20 strategic fuel reserve plan for the state to respond to private 21 and public fuel needs in the event of an emergency or disaster, 22 as defined in s. 252.34, Florida Statutes. 23 (2) The division shall provide administrative and support 24 services relating to the functions of the task force. 25 (3) The task force shall consist of the following members: 26 (a) Three persons appointed by the President of the Senate. 27 (b) Three persons appointed by the Speaker of the House of 28 Representatives. 29 (c) Three persons appointed by the Governor. 30 (4) The task force shall elect a chair and vice chair. 31 (5) The task force shall submit a recommended strategic 32 fuel reserve plan to the Governor, the President of the Senate, 33 and the Speaker of the House of Representatives by April 30, 34 2019. 35 (6) This section expires on June 30, 2019. 36 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2018.
