    1                          Senate Resolution                        
    2         A resolution expressing the Florida Senate’s
    3         unwavering support for the State of Israel.
    4  
    5         WHEREAS, the Florida Senate recognizes the right of the
    6  State of Israel to exist as a sovereign and independent nation,
    7  with the full rights and privileges afforded to all nations
    8  under international law, and
    9         WHEREAS, the State of Florida has a longstanding alliance
   10  with the State of Israel, which is founded on shared democratic
   11  principles and common interests, and
   12         WHEREAS, on October 7, 2023, Hamas launched an attack on
   13  the State of Israel, which included firing over 2,500 rockets
   14  into the nation and resulted in hundreds of Israelis being
   15  murdered, with the death toll expected to rise, and
   16         WHEREAS, the Florida Senate stands firmly in solidarity
   17  with the State of Israel and its efforts to safeguard its
   18  citizens, protect its borders, and ensure the safety and
   19  security of its people, NOW, THEREFORE,

   21  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:
   22  
   23         That the Florida Senate reaffirms the unwavering commitment
   24  to the partnership between the State of Florida and the State of
   25  Israel.
   26         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Florida Senate stands in
   27  solidarity with the State of Israel and condemns this unprovoked
   28  attack by Hamas against Israel and its citizens and supports
   29  Israel’s right to defend itself and protect its citizens from
   30  indiscriminate violence and terrorism.
   31         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Florida Senate
   32  unequivocally supports the right of the State of Israel to exist
   33  as a sovereign and independent nation with the full recognition
   34  of its borders and territory.
   35         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
   36  transmitted to the Governor of the State of Florida, each member
   37  of the Florida congressional delegation, and the Ambassador of
   38  the State of Israel to the United States as a testament to the
   39  enduring partnership between our states and to the Florida
   40  Senate’s unwavering support for the State of Israel.
