Summary

Changes name of Department of Children & Family Services to Department of Children & Families; authorizes department to restructure its organizational units to establish circuits, which are aligned geographically with judicial circuits, & regions, which include multiple circuits in geographical proximity to each other; revises requirements relating to community alliances; deletes provisions relating to service districts, prototype region, & procurement of health services; revises mission of department; provides for appointment of Director for Substance Abuse & Mental Health to head state's Substance Abuse & Mental Health Program Office; revises provisions relating to structure of & services provided by department; revises provisions aligning boundaries of service areas for Department of Health to those of service districts of department to conform to changes made by this act; deletes authority of Governor to appoint executive director of State Office on Homelessness; provides for future legislation to conform Florida Statutes to changes made by act.
