House . . . . . ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— The Committee on Education (Stewart) recommended the following: 1 Senate Amendment to Amendment (826696) (with title 2 amendment) 3 4 Between lines 2208 and 2209 5 insert: 6 Section 24. Subsections (9) and (10) of section 1008.22, 7 Florida Statutes, are amended to read: 8 1008.22 Student assessment program for public schools.— 9 (9) CONCORDANT SCORES.—The Commissioner of Education must 10 identify scores on the SAT,andACT, the Spanish language 11 College Assessment and Admission Test (PEAU), and the revised 12 version of the Spanish language University Admission Test (PAA) 13 whichthatif achieved satisfy the graduation requirement that a 14 student pass the grade 10 statewide, standardized Reading 15 assessment or, upon implementation, the grade 10 ELA assessment. 16 The commissioner may identify concordant scores on assessments 17 other than the SAT,andACT, PEAU, and PAA. The commissioner may 18 waive passage of the grade 10 ELA assessment for students who 19 earn the identified concordant scores on the PEAU or PAA. If the 20 content or scoring procedures change for the grade 10 Reading 21 assessment or, upon implementation, the grade 10 ELA assessment, 22 new concordant scores must be determined. If new concordant 23 scores are not timely adopted, the last-adopted concordant 24 scores remain in effect until such time as new scores are 25 adopted. The state board shall adopt concordant scores in rule. 26 (10) COMPARATIVE SCORES FOR END-OF-COURSE (EOC) 27 ASSESSMENT.— 28 (a) The Commissioner of Education must identify: 29 1. One or more comparative scores for the Algebra I EOC 30 assessment. If the content or scoring procedures change for the 31 EOC assessment, new comparative scores must be determined. If 32 new comparative scores are not timely adopted, the last-adopted 33 comparative scores remain in effect until such time as new 34 scores are adopted; and.35 2. Comparative scores on the PEAU and the PAA assessments 36 for the EOC assessments required under paragraph (3)(b). If the 37 content or scoring procedures change for an EOC assessment, the 38 commissioner must identify new comparative scores. If new 39 comparative scores are not timely adopted, the last-adopted 40 comparative scores remain in effect until such time as new 41 scores are adopted. 42 (b) The state board shall adopt comparative scores in rule. 43 44 ================= T I T L E A M E N D M E N T ================ 45 And the title is amended as follows: 46 Between lines 3225 and 3226 47 insert: 48 s. 1008.22, F.S.; requiring the Commissioner of 49 Education to identify concordant and comparative 50 scores on specified Spanish language college admission 51 tests which satisfy certain graduation requirements; 52 authorizing the commissioner to waive passage of the 53 grade 10 ELA for certain students; requiring the 54 commissioner to identify new scores under certain 55 circumstances; amending
