151st GENERAL ASSEMBLY
SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 14
RECOGNIZING APRIL 2021 AS "CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH" IN THE STATE OF DELAWARE.
WHEREAS, an estimated 700,000 children are abused and neglected in the United States annually; and
WHEREAS, the prevention of child abuse is a matter of concern to citizens, state agencies and community organizations in Delaware; and
WHEREAS, collaborative partnerships among various groups can help make child abuse prevention programs successful; and
WHEREAS, all citizens of the State should encourage parents to raise their children in a safe, nurturing environment and support programs designed to help prevent child abuse;
NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the 151st General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the House of Representatives concurring therein, that the month of April 2021 is designated as “Child Abuse Prevention Month” in the State of Delaware.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all citizens, community organizations, state and local agencies, religious organizations, businesses, and medical facilities are called upon to support efforts to prevent child abuse.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that suitably prepared copies of this Resolution be forwarded to Prevent Child Abuse Delaware, Children and Families First, the Children’s Advocacy Center, Grassroots Citizens for Children, and the Office of the Child Advocate.

This Resolution recognizes April 2021 as "Child Abuse Prevention Month" in the State of Delaware.
