DELAWARE STATE SENATE 148th GENERAL ASSEMBLY |
SENATE BILL NO. 80 |
AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 24 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO THE BOARD OF HOME INSPECTORS. |
Section 1. Amend Title 24, Chapter 41, Subchapter II of the Delaware Code by making additions as shown by underlining and deletions as shown by strike through as follows:
§4108 Qualifications of applicant; report to Attorney General; judicial review.
(a) An applicant, who is applying for licensure as a home inspector under this chapter, for the relevant license, shall submit evidence, verified by oath and satisfactory to the Board, that such person:
(8) Has provided
evidence that the applicant or the applicant's employer has and will maintain
liability and errors and omissions insurance in the form and minimum amount to
be determined by the Board in its rules and regulations.
SYNOPSIS
This bill updates the
Delaware Code relating to the Delaware Board of Home Inspectors by
eliminating the qualification for licensure of obtaining and maintaining
errors and omissions insurance.Maintenance of insurance is not a factor that indicates an individual
is properly trained and qualified to perform home inspections; thus this bill
will enable more applicants to become qualified for licensure based upon
training, education and experience. |
