AN ACT ESTABLISHING A CHEESE SHOP WINE RETAILER PERMIT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) (a) A cheese shop wine retailer permit shall allow the retail sale of wine by the permit holder on the premises of a cheese shop. Such wine shall not be consumed on the premises. The permit holder shall be located in this state and such wine shall be purchased only by the permit holder from the holder of a package store permit issued pursuant to section 30-20 of the general statutes or the holder of a manufacturer permit for a farm winery issued pursuant to subsection (e) of section 30-16 of the general statutes. For the purposes of this section, "cheese shop" means a store primarily engaged in the retail sale of cheese.

(b) The sale of wine by the permit holder shall only take place during the times permitted for the sale of alcoholic liquor in places operating under package store permits pursuant to section 30-91 of the general statutes. The holder of a cheese shop wine retailer permit shall not sell wine on premises operating under any other permit issued pursuant to title 30 of the general statutes.

(c) The annual fee for a cheese shop wine retailer permit shall be two hundred dollars.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
