AN ACT CONCERNING THE CONTINUATION OF CHILD SUPPORT OBLIGATIONS AFTER THE TERMINATION OF PARENTAL RIGHTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 815j of the general statutes be amended to provide that a parent whose parental rights have been terminated due to the abuse or neglect of a child shall continue to be obligated to pay child support after such termination.

Statement of Purpose:

To require continued child support payments from a parent whose parental rights are terminated due to the abuse or neglect of the child.
