AN ACT ALLOWING THE USE OF GOLF CARTS ON LOCAL ROADS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to allow the traffic authority of any city, town or borough to permit the use of golf carts, during daylight hours, on any street or highway under the jurisdiction of such traffic authority, provided (1) such golf cart is equipped with an operable horn in accordance with subsection (e) of section 14-80 of the general statutes, (2) such golf cart is equipped with a flag that is positioned to assist any operator of a motor vehicle to observe the location and operation of such golf cart, (3) no such golf cart operates on any street or highway with a posted speed limit greater than twenty-five miles per hour, and (4) the operator of such golf cart carries a valid motor vehicle operator's license while operating such golf cart.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow the use of golf carts on local roads under certain circumstances.
