AN ACT EXPANDING THE DUTIES OF THE CHIEF PUBLIC DEFENDER TO INCLUDE REPRESENTATION OF ELDERLY PERSONS AND PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES IN PROBATE COURT MATTERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 51-291 of the general statutes be amended to expand the duties of the Chief Public Defender to include the provision of legal services to elderly persons and persons with disabilities in probate court matters.
Statement of Purpose:
To ensure that elderly persons and persons with disabilities have adequate legal representation in probate court matters by expanding the duties of the Chief Public Defender to include the provision of legal services to such persons in such matters.
