AN ACT ESTABLISHING THE CRIME OF RENTAL FRAUD.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 53 of the general statutes be amended to establish the crime of rental fraud and to further provide that a person who during a two-year period is evicted three or more times from nonpublic housing shall have committed the act of rental fraud.
Statement of Purpose:
To make repeat offenders of rental fraud subject to criminal penalties.
