AN ACT CONCERNING THE CONSTRUCTION OF IN-LAW APARTMENTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 8 of the general statutes be amended to permit municipalities to facilitate and provide incentives for the construction of in-law apartments and other structural modifications to residential dwellings that allow individuals to care for senior citizen family members at home.
Statement of Purpose:
To encourage senior citizens to age in place in community settings rather than seek institutionalized long-term care.
