AN ACT CONCERNING MUNICIPAL VOLUNTEER SERVICES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2018) On and after July 1, 2018, no municipality shall enter into a collective bargaining agreement that limits the ability of such municipality to permit an individual to provide volunteer services for the benefit of the municipality. The provisions of this section shall not apply to collective bargaining agreements entered into between a municipality and an employee organization that is the exclusive representative of paid firefighters or police officers.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
