AN ACT CONCERNING THE PROVISION OF PSYCHIATRIC AND SUBSTANCE USE TREATMENT SERVICES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2014) A psychiatric outpatient clinic for adults or a free-standing clinic for the care or the treatment of persons with substance use disorders that is licensed in accordance with chapter 368v of the general statutes may, under the terms of such license, provide psychiatric services or substance use disorder treatment services at a location that is not physically part of the licensed clinic or facility, but is affiliated with such clinic or facility. Such location shall include, but need not be limited to, a physician's office, acute care hospital or other location that is acceptable to the patient receiving such services.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

To allow certain health care facilities to provide psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment services at locations that are not physically part of the licensed clinic or facility.
