AN ACT REQUIRING NOTICE BY PSYCHIATRISTS CONCERNING PATIENTS THAT MAY POSE A THREAT TO THEMSELVES OR OTHERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 319i of the general statutes be amended to require psychiatrists to notify public safety authorities when a patient is believed to be a threat to himself or herself or to other persons.
Statement of Purpose:
To require psychiatric professionals to provide notice to authorities when a patient is a threat to himself or herself or to other persons.
