AN ACT CONCERNING THE FILM PRODUCTION TAX CREDIT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That subdivision (3) of subsection (a) of section 12-217jj of the general statutes be amended to allow a thirty per cent film tax credit to any eligible production company that conducts not less than eighty per cent of its principal photography days in the state, employs producers and crew, not less than fifty per cent of whom are Connecticut residents, and spends not less than two hundred thousand dollars on a film.

Statement of Purpose:

To allow a motion picture company to receive a full thirty per cent tax credit if the company demonstrates a substantial economic commitment to the state.
