AN ACT PROPORTIONALLY AWARDING THE STATE'S ELECTORAL COLLEGE VOTES FOR PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 9 of the general statutes be amended to provide that (1) the two electors of President and Vice President of the United States corresponding to the senators in Congress to which the state is entitled shall cast their ballots for the Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates receiving the highest total of votes state-wide, and (2) each of the five such electors corresponding to the representative in Congress to which each of the state's five congressional districts is entitled shall cast such elector's respective ballot for the Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates receiving the highest total votes in the corresponding congressional district.

Statement of Purpose:

To more proportionally award Connecticut's Electoral College votes.
