AN ACT AUTHORIZING BONDS OF THE STATE FOR A MEMORIAL PLAQUE FOR THE PEOPLE WHOSE LIVES WERE LOST IN NEWTOWN.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the State Bond Commission be empowered to authorize the issuance of bonds of the state in accordance with section 3-20 of the general statutes, in principal amounts not exceeding in the aggregate ____ dollars, the proceeds of which shall be used by the Joint Committee on Legislative Management for the purpose of installing a plaque at the State Capitol to honor the innocent lives lost in the Town of Newtown on Friday, December 14, 2012.

Statement of Purpose:

To memorialize the children and adults whose lives were lost in Newtown.
