AN ACT CONCERNING FACTORS USED IN AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE RATING.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to prohibit insurance companies from using variables such as occupation, education level or marital status as factors in personal automobile insurance underwriting or rating.
Statement of Purpose:
To prohibit insurance companies from using variables unrelated to an applicant's driving performance in setting automobile insurance rates.
