AN ACT INCREASING THE NUMBER OF MONTHS A STUDENT MAY SPEND IN A PROGRAM OF BILINGUAL EDUCATION.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That subsection (d) of section 10-17f of the general statutes be amended to increase the time a student may spend in a program of bilingual education from thirty months to sixty months and that the appropriation to the Department of Education be increased to assist local and regional boards of education in implementing such sixty-month requirement.

Statement of Purpose:

To increase the time a student may spend in a program of bilingual education from thirty months to sixty months and to provide funding to school districts for such increase.
