AN ACT CONCERNING POLITICAL COMMITTEES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 155 of the general statutes be amended to prohibit (1) any legislator from serving as chairperson, treasurer or other officer of or establishing or controlling any political committee other than a legislative caucus committee or a legislative leadership committee, and (2) any political committee that files with any town clerk from making any contribution to any legislative caucus committee, legislative leadership committee or state central committee.

Statement of Purpose:

To limit who may serve as an officer of certain political committees and restrict certain contributions from political committees that file campaign reports with a town clerk.
