AN ACT CONCERNING DELAYS IN MEDICAID APPLICATION PROCESSING.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to ensure that eligible applicants for medical assistance under Title XIX of the Social Security Act and providers eligible for payment are not denied coverage or payments due to failure of the Department of Social Services to meet federal requirements that applications be processed within 90 days.
Statement of Purpose:
To ensure that eligible recipients and providers are not denied Medicaid coverage due to delays caused by the Department of Social Services in processing applications.
