AN ACT CONCERNING THE LIFE EXPECTANCY OF UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 446k of the general statutes be amended to provide that the life expectancy of an underground oil storage tank is forty years, rather than thirty years, provided such tank was constructed between May 23, 1986, and October 1, 2013, and consists of double-walled fiberglass plastic construction.

Statement of Purpose:

To establish consistent regulations of underground storage tank life expectancy and to alleviate financial pressure on local school and municipal budgets.
