AN ACT CONCERNING ELECTRONIC SIGNATURES FOR PERSONAL PROPERTY DECLARATIONS FILINGS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That sections 12-41 and 12-43 of the general statutes be amended to allow the annual declaration of personal property to be filed using an electronic signature, provided the municipality in which an electronic signature is filed (1) has the technological ability to accept electronic signatures, and (2) agrees to accept an electronic signature.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow electronic signatures to accompany a declaration of personal property that is filed online, provided the town can accommodate electronic signatures and is willing to accept them.
