AN ACT CONCERNING THE ELIMINATION OF THE DEADLINE FOR WHEN BOARDS OF EDUCATION MAY APPLY FOR STATE GRANTS FOR ADDITIONAL SPECIAL EDUCATION CHILDREN AND COSTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That subsection (b) of section 10-76g of the general statutes be amended to eliminate the March first deadline for filing a grant application for claims for additional special education children or costs not included in the December grant application filing.

Statement of Purpose:

To require the state to cover excess costs for special education for children who move into a new school district after March first.
