AN ACT CONCERNING THE USE OF ELECTRONIC AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE CARDS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to allow motorists who receive proof of insurance electronically from their insurer to use such electronic proof of insurance through an application on their smart phone or other device for the purposes of motor vehicle traffic stops and registering the motor vehicle with the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow the use of electronic insurance cards for the purposes of motor vehicle traffics stops and automobile registration.
