AN ACT REQUIRING THE STUDY OF THE PERMITTING OF FARM-BASED ANAEROBIC DIGESTERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2018) (a) the Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection shall conduct a study to consider ways to streamline the process for the permitting of farm-based anaerobic digesters.
(b) Not later than July 1, 2019, the commissioner shall report, in accordance with section 11-4a of the general statutes, the results of the study conducted pursuant to subsection (a) of this section to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to energy and technology.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||

Statement of Purpose:
To require the Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection to study ways to streamline the permitting process for anaerobic digesters.
