AN ACT LEGALIZING AND REGULATING MIXED MARTIAL ARTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapters 532a and 943 of the general statutes be amended to permit professional mixed martial arts matches in the state and subject such matches to the same regulation that currently applies to boxing matches, including giving the Commissioner of Emergency Services and Public Protection regulatory authority over such matches, requiring licensing of the sponsors of and participants in such matches, imposing a tax upon the receipts of such matches and requiring compliance with other safety requirements.

Statement of Purpose:

To legalize and regulate professional mixed martial arts matches.
